I was out filling up the bird feeder yesterday, when I decided to check on the last couple of peppers still trying to grow in the garden.
I looked down at my feet where the strawberries were, awaiting their winter insulation (which will be going on soon!) and noticed a suspicious amount of red!
We've had a couple of warmer days this week, and I guess it was just enough to give these little guys some colour. I do have to say though, it's strange eating fresh strawberries in September!

Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI bet they were delicious!
ReplyDeleteStrange, but wonderful! They look pretty yummy.
ReplyDeleteThe first of Steve's scorpion peppers is just starting to *color-up*. We should have harvest some time next week.
I'd say that's a pretty sweet surprise! Yum!
ReplyDeleteawww what a super sweet surprise
ReplyDeleteThey have new varieties now that fruit until that first killer frost and I have to say, I LOVE eating local strawberries at this time of year! Such a treat.
ReplyDeleteA couple of years ago, I planted "everbearing" strawberries, which are supposed to produce a fall crop, but I have yet to see any. You are lucky!
