At long last (possibly 10 years...) Beaker is done!
He's not perfect - his proportions are a bit off. But he's still recognizably Beaker. And considering I knit him pretty much completely on the fly, I'm not going to complain too much.
I'm certainly not going to rip it out and start over. Because, if there's one thing I've learned from all this... I absolutely hate working in acrylic! The whole thing (with the exception of the hair) is knit in Patons Astra. I knit him in that becuase I already a had a few of the colours I needed in my stash - but had I been more experienced when I started him - I'd have dyed some nice superwash merino instead!
Oh well... he's done, and tucked away for Dave's birthday, which is in July. Now onto something more enjoyable.

Love his frowny Beaker face!!! Dave is going to ♥ him!
ReplyDeleteHe is certainly recognizable! Nice work and nice finish!
ReplyDeleteI think your husband will enjoy this surprise for sure!
OMG I love him so much! He is adorable, and I'm incredibly impressed that you just "figured it out." :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is just fantastic. I have to say, I wish I was Dave.
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday to you.
Andrea
