It's done!
Well. At least the top is. It still needs to be quilted so it's being packed up and shipped off to Mom. She can do a really neat, free-motion leaf pattern that I think will be just perfect for this one. Plus it's way too big for me to attempt myself.
It's not quite a full queen-size, but it's close. Once I'd put on the borders I'd cut the other day, I discovered while the length was perfect, it wasn't quite as wide as I wanted. I didn't have much fabric that would work for some extra width... except for this pretty floral.
It's actually the fabric I'd bought for the backing. It was in a clearance bin, and had a few extra yards than what I needed, so I took the whole lot. I'm glad I did as it allowed me to put an extra six inches on each side to make it wider.
I am so pleased to have this one off my plate, and on to Mom's. (Though her plate is pretty full too so I don't expect to see it back for a few months.). It means I can move onto other things.
As well as add some new scraps to the various scrap block bins. The strip bin is actually almost full, and when it is, I think I'll start building some log cabins.
And before I forget... the last time I posted about this quilt, a couple of you noted on the absence of my Snooperviser. I promise, he was there, I was just able to get a picture without him for once. And of course, he helped this time too...
...he brought along a mousie friend to tests for bouncability...
... and of course, rolled all over it to discern it's general comfort level. After all.. a kitten's work is never done!
Woo hoo.....congrats on the big finish!!!
