I am officially ready for the zombie apocolypse...

... as long as the zombies are standing perfectly still, that is.

Today is the first official day of my vacation. Coincidentally, Mom and Dad are also on vacation, so Dad took me out to the gun range to let me have a little fun.
(This gives you an idea how far away the targets were - and yes - you need those head-phones - it's LOUD!!!!.)

I've grown up with hunters, so I'm not completely out in the woods when it comes to firearms, though it's been almost 20 years since I've had one in my hands (and it was just a BB gun).

I also got to try my hand at something a little smaller...
It's not as easy as they make it look on TV... but after a little while, I was able to at least keep the shots on the target.

Tomorrow's day two - but after all that excitement, I think I'll probably just stick to knitting.

Thank goodness; I was worried ;)

We're pretty safe here too. Gavin was a very accurate shooter when he was in the police and army. And I'm no slouch with a rifle either. We do target practice in the back yard with toy pellet guns to annoy the squirrels.

My sister had automatic weapons training once, but I think she's too slight - she was being knocked on her ass!

Oh that's so cool! My son keeps telling me he's going to take me to the range too, but there's never time. I think I wouldn't even see the targets that far away!

My Dad taught me how to shoot when I was a kid and after I shot his shoes off the windowsill one night (thought it was a burglar) he regretted it and locked up the guns forever. It was fun though.
Happy vacation!

I don't think I've ever shot a gun in my life! lol Least not that I can remember. :)

Shooting is Fun! My husband took me to the range on our first date! Turns out I'm a better shot than he is. Woot.
