The downward spiral....

I was really hoping to accomplish more this weekend, but all I have to show you is half a pair of socks.
It's 3:30, Sunday afternoon and I haven't even cast on for the second one. I was so sure I could get the whole pair done this weekend.

So what happened, you ask?

Well Saturday, I couldn't seem to pull myself out of bed, so I didn't get up to Mom's until after noon. We dyed yarn until 3ish and I headed home. Then it was make dinner, and focus on finishing the first sock.

Today, it was even harder to pull myself out of bed. Then there's laundry and mopping (never ending mopping when you have an old senile cat...) and a trip up to Mom's again, because I forgot to bring Dad's birthday present yesterday (d'oh!).

Now I've got to make a lasagna (promised to a co-worker in exchange for a boat load of cheese and lunch meat) and pretty myself up for Dave's work's Christmas party tonight (which the boy didn't tell me about until yesterday - of course!)

So no more knitting time today. I'm not overly optimistic about this week either - I don't get much time to knit in the evenings any more.

*Sigh* That's what you get for being overly optimistic - Murphy comes and gives you a swift kick in the rear end! Hope your Christmas plans are going better than mine!

Why is it we think that the week before Christmas we will have boat-loads of time? LOL

My Christmas company is here THIS week. Next week ---- time is MINE, ALL MINE!

Colour of that sock is really nice. Sounds like you need to rest on Sunday...and do a bit of knitting if you feel up to it.

Hope the party was good. MMMmmm mopping, gotta love pets (its like that in my house too, old senile dog). Lots of washing dog blankets these days too.

Well, the sock is pretty, and you can always give the one with the promise of the second one, coming at some point.
I hope you still have fun at the Christmas party! I hated attending those, glad I don't have to anymore.
I've been cleaning, and getting the house in order for our guests to arrive. I baked bread, twice, and cake, and other stuff, and now I'm exhausted. Tomorrow is another full day, but then I can relax, hopefully.
I can't wait to see the new dyed yarn!

I know what you mean, I'd planned to be winding down this week, but work it seems has got busy so I'm going to have to do 2 pick ups of work this week and do some in the holiday break too. Knitting has gone on hold, again.

I feel your knitting pain. I had high hopes for my Advent Scarf KAL and then life got in the way. Staying up until all hours trying to get the day's pattern knit is starting to get old. I like the idea of gifting one sock and then promising the other. I may have to use that myself one day!

You're still getting more knitting done than I am...
Give a sock, promise a sock - that's a great idea. Unfortunately, I'm knitting hats and cowls...
*sniff*
