It looks like my orchid is happy to see me....
It's been more than five months since my pretty pink orchid Pollyanna lost her blooms... but she's finally sending up another bloom stem. Persephone the white orchid isn't doing as well (her leaves are a little limp) but she's still alive, so I'm holding out hope.
And I the other day, I brought a new one home
This is Penelope.
She's pretty showy, and I love her.
And look...
It has no flowers left, but my Poinsettia is looking pretty good. I've put her outside on the patio table for the summer. She seems to love it. I have a coworker from Mexico an she says they grow in the ditches there - so I think she's going to enjoy a nice hot summer in the sun.

You have a green thumb! Gorgeous orchids
Penelope is so pretty!
The photo that you posted is a root ---- that's not a bloom stem. BUT, the good news is, it does mean your plant is making progress.
I love your first caption
I got a beautiful orchid as a gift...and it's starting to lose blooms. I hope I can keep it alive and happy until it's ready to bloom again.
Oh new bloom, how exciting! That's funny that poinsettias grow in Mexico ... since they are generally "cold weather" gift plants here!
