Just make yourself at home

The bunnies are out in full force this year. Almost every time I look out, there's one hanging in the yard.
And they are getting quite comfortable.
Downright comfortable
In fact, one night I came home and found one lounging behind my Black-Eyed Susans. By the time I got back with the camera, he was gone. But he'd left behind a nice little hollow in the dirt. Since he didn't disturb any plants (which is more than I can say for my own pets) I've left the hollow, hope to spy him there again, keeping cool on a hot day.

And this morning, I got him
 Can't see him? Look closer

It's nice and cozy in there

But that's not all the bunny happenings....about a week ago, Dave mentioned that he'd seen a really small bunny. I've only seen a baby once, the first summer we were here. But the other day, I looked out to the feeder and...
There he was. Such a wee thing - about half the size of the others.
And not nearly as trusting... which is probably for the best.

Bunnies everywhere! We used to have one that always insisted on running out in front of the car from the same spot in the bushes. He/She did it for years. We called it Kamikaze Bunny and warned anyone who was coming to visit. I never knew what happened to it, which is a very good thing. I was afraid it would end up on my doorstep one morning as a present from the ferals.

I'd better not let youngest see this, he desperately wants a bunny of his own. The answer however is no, due to the guinea pig experience.
