Attack of the bunbuns

Yup. We are in full-force bunny heaven here again...
Seems like every time I turn around, there's a bunny booting from underfoot. Taking out the garbage, checking on the roses, watering the lilies - it doesn't matter - there's a bunny around somewhere.

Sunday morning, I was quietly eating my Eggos and a watching out the back door. Bunbun and the birds were diligently munching up all the seed on the ground (the feeder was empty and I hadn't been out to fill it yet). Then all of a sudden, Bunbun 2 bursts out from the bushes and the backyard exploded with doves and sparrows and poor Bunbun 1 heading off in all directions.

I watched Bunbun 2 chase Bunbun 1 around for a few minutes, but it was killing Rocky to watch and not be out there, so I opened the door....
"I'm gonna catch the bunny! I'm going to catch the bunny!"
"Rocky, you are never going to catch that rabbit. You are too fat ant too slow. And that rabbit knows it."
"You boys are missing out on all the good grass. We promised we were going to puke it up on the blonde guy's pillow... remember?"

And we've got a new player in the daily drama of Chez Wandering Cat Backyard.
Gracky the Grackle! This guy likes to swoop down from the trees and sit on the fence and squawk at me and the cats until we go inside so he can raid the feeder.

The fun never ends!

What a zoo! I had to chase two crazy bunnies out of the road the other day. They were so busy jumping all over the place that I was sure they would get hit by a car. I must have looked rather strange to the neighbors.

Wild Kingdom, lol. Pumba is always near the door, trying to escape, lol. I was going to take him out the other day, he's too old to outrun me now. I opened the door wide twice, both times he turned away. I guess it's not fun if it looks like you're allowed out, only if you can escape. Even though when he does escape he meows the whole time and gives himself away, lol. :)

Your bunny looks groomed! I found a dead Grackle in our back yard the other day. Had my son remove it, before the dogs found it. :o(

Your cats are hilarious. I can't believe the bunny doesn't run from them! Is none of your cats able to chase it just a little bit?

I cannot believe the cats just watch and don't chase the rabbit!

I'm laughing at how the cats can't wait to get outside and chase the bunny...and then sit... and contemplate the situation. It's like there's more curiosity than action. I guess it's all about the hunt.
