Special Delivery

I'm trying to be really good about extra spending, but Minding My Own Stitches made me fall off the wagon.

The other day at work, I was between projects, minding my own business and catching up on my blog reading, when I read about her experience with a new online yarn shop (Loveknitting.com). I had some time, so why not check it out...

And then a pop up window opens up "Sign up for our newsletter and get 10% off and free shipping on your first order..."

How could I resist?
Now - in my defense - this is for a Christmas present. This year I'm trying to cut my Christmas knitting in half, but this is one of the projects I really want to do. Dad's mentioned he'd like some heavyweight boot socks a couple of times - but it's tough to find heavyweight yarn with nylon in it - and that man needs nylon. I've been searching for some for a while and was so pleased to find this. It's just like their fingering weight Fabel - just heavier.

I quite like the Fabel. For an inexpensive commercial yarn, it's hard-wearing, but still decently soft. I can't wait to knit up these... worsted weight socks are going to go sooooo fast!

The yarn was priced well and arrived with in a week. I have a feeling I'll be back there again when things get slow at work...
