Lily land

One of the things I love most about July is that is when the lilies (my favourite) really start to shine. And now that I've expanded so much, we've go a lot of lilies shining!
The orange daylilies are the oldest, and most established - I've got several clumps of them in the front garden and they are blooming all over the place.
New this year, and right in front of the orange ones, we've got Night Embers
And Katherine Woodville. As you know, there are several others, but we're still waiting on blooms. These ones are pretty spectacular though.
Around the side and back are the fancier, long-blooming Asiatic and Oriental Lilies. Like this big beautiful Trumpet Lily. I love the touch of pink on the outside of the petals.

These orange ones may be plain, but the bold colour keeps them exciting.
And the pure white Casablanca Lilies never fail to disappoint.

The red/black Asiatic lilies bloomed early, so it looks like their show is over, but we still have some pink stargazers getting ready to bloom. They, the trumpet, orange and Casablanca lilies were bought as a grab bag last year... and there was a fifth variety that hasn't bloomed yet, so I'm hoping there are more surprises on the horizon.

The Night Embers lily is amazing. I'm really drawn to those darker color flowers.

I had a dedrobium orchid that was that color. It had the tiniest slash of white in the throat. Sadly, it didn't survive to move. I'm constantly on the lookout for another one at orchid shows. It's name was Night Surprise.

We have 'tiger lilies' all over the place; they look just like your top photo. Every year, there are more, and they show up in new locations too!

The deep red bloom is beautiful but I love the orange ones the best!

Beautiful!!! I love lilies too. Mom's yard was ablaze with them this time of year.

So gorgeous. Love the Night Embers one. Ours are really sparse this year. Everything in the garden is strange this year...
