New blooms

Thank you for all your lovely comments about our newest family member. As I write this, there's a continual ginger streak, followed by fluffy little shadow ripping my house apart.

I'd forgotten what it was like to have a kitten in the house... so for today, let's take a break and wander around the garden and see what's new...
The tickseed in the new garden has started to bloom.
As have the double-blooking Susans.
The Indian Blanket Sunflower is bloomed. It looked a lot more red on the package... but I kinda like this rusty yelow.
The pink Speedwell is blooming too. This is one of my favourites. I have some purple stuff in the new garden that has started putting up spikes, so it won't be far behind.
The lavender is doing well too. I was worried I'd lost it over the winter, but it was just slow coming back.  It's now going strong.
The Cupid's Dart is really booming this year. This one always makes me happy because I got it for 50 cents!
And this is why I love the Blanket Flower... it blooms  like this all summer long. And it grows and grows. It;s such a happy summer plant.
The dollar store anemones are starting too bloom too. I've got this lovely white one, and there's a blue one about to open.

What's making you smile?

Indian Blanket Sunflower. WOw. I cant' stop looking at it . I want.
I have a volunteer sunflower in the back of my shed. I'm thrilled . She'll just be a yellow bloom, but I love their faces.

I love the sunflowers! A friend planted a row of them along his fence-unfortunately the sun is causing the sunflowers to 'look' at the neighbors instead of into his yard! lol He is planting them on the other side of his yard next year!
