Happy Birthday!

If the Humane Society was right when they pegged his age, this little guy should be turning one year old sometime this month.

So why not make today his birthday?


He's definitely grown since we brought him home in May, but he's still on the small side (still smaller than Peno, and she's a small cat). And he's definitely still kittenish. I mean, just look at that face!

The last week or so, he's been getting more social, sitting beside both Dave and I more  (he even had a nap with Dave a week or so ago!). He's letting me carry him around for longer, and not immediately running away when one of us makes a sudden move.

And while he may still be a little unsure of snuggling... he's more than happy to play with us. He loves his feather stick (and will bring it to you when he wants to play) and he's absolutely obssessed with catching the red dot. If he even hears me rustling in my knitting tool box (where the laser pointer is kept) he comes running to see if the red dot will come out to play.
He's also always up for a good game of "Here, rub my belly so I can gnaw on you!"

Rupert's barely been here four months, but it feels like a lot longer. I still miss Tux and Rocky (partly because Ru would have loved them!), but this little guy certainly knows how to make me smile.
