Believin' Eve

So a funny thing happened this weekend. I'd planned to work on the Solo shawl - I had two days (Sunday and Monday) with nothing concrete planned. There should be time at least finish up the body of the shawl!

But, well ... a certain yellow shrug had other ideas...
(Sorry for the crappy photo - it's 7 p.m. when I get home from work
and there's not enough light now to get decent outside pics :( )

I just could not put Eve down. After reading other knitters' notes, it seems I'm not the only one who's found her quite addictive.

I was actually further along with this, but I had a little trouble with the sleeves (those are the long skinny bits on the ends of the needles)  The sleeves are worked horizontally and with short rows, but for some reason, I just could not get things to jive while following the pattern. I don't think there's anything wrong with the pattern, I just couldn't get my brain and hands coordinated.

By the time I finished the short rows, I had 13 more stitches on one sleeve than that other..... and that would never do. I already have my doubts that these "full length" sleeves are going to be long enough for my monkey arms, but different lengths certainly isn't going to help anything.

So I ripped back, counted my stitches and figured things out on paper. It's not exactly as the pattern is written (I don't think anyway, I'm still having some trouble wrapping my brain around the instructions) but I think it's going to work.

But now I really do need to set poor Eve aside and work on to Solo shawl... I have a test knitter waiting!

Must be half way picture day. Mine came out not so great after two takes today too. Sorry your count was off.!!!!! I love the progress you have made though

I am happy to hear I am not the only one that struggles with patterns from time to time. I just frogged a lot of little stitches because I couldn't figure out the chart of some knitted in front bands. It took me all night to realize I was knitting the wrong side reversed. I still can't figure out my right from my left. :(

Stunning!

So many projects, so little time!

I have felt that pull myself.

Looking good!! I'm not quite "seeing" how the sleeves work, but am interested in seeing photos of your progress. It sure is pretty.
