Simply silk

Despite the distraction of the Big Purple Hug, the silk cardi is coming along nicely too.
It's got an interesting construction. If you've ever knit a top-down raglan cardi, you know that you're generally working on fronts, sleeves and back, all at once, increasing until you get to the point where you set the sleeve stitches aside.

But on this one, you work only on the sleeves and backs at first, until you set the sleeve stitches aside. Then you pick up along the front raglan sleeve for the fronts. It gives the fronts a tilted construction, and it's a fun new way to work top down.
I'm only a few rows into those fronts, but the vine lace is starting to emerge. I'm modifying this one into more of a shrug than a cardi, so it shouldn't be too much longer before it's finished.

Of course, there's all sorts of distractions out there... so lets not get too excited.
