Critter

Who needs to buy sunflower seeds?
I was reorganizing some stuff on my outside plant stand when I discovered this little beauty growing up between the shelves. Look familiar? Yup - it's a wild sunflower just like the ones I planted, only this one is nowhere near the bee garden. It must have grown from the bird seed that the squirrel dumped this winter.

And while I was photographing the sunflower - I came across a new little friend.
He was scooting around between the stand and the garbage can and didn't seem the least bit afraid of me.
I had to resist the urge to try and pick him up - he was just so tiny and fluffy and cute. Instead, I shooed the cats inside before they saw him and let him go about his business. I just really hope he's not the one lunching on my strawberries.

I think mice are so cute until they eat all the wires in your Mini Cooper.

I don't mind mice if they're outside, but Star has been known to bring them inside to show them off; while still alive. I'm quite good at catching them and turfing them back outside again, I'm also used to the various cat accusations that arise from this particular manouver.

Love the sunflower; not so much a fan of mice...unless they keep their fluffy cuteness outside! This one you photographed is admittedly very cute!
