Trying to start my fire

I'll admit it... I am in a complete funk knitting wise. I don't want to work on anything I have on the needles. And for once, I'm don't even really have the urge to cast anything on. Despite that... I tried...
I went up to the stash and pulled out this skein of Alley Cat (colour is Fire Starter). I cast on and ripped out three different socks... (because you know, having another uncompleted sock on needles will just make EVERYTHING better). Nothing was working. After the third attempt, I realized the knitting fates were trying to tell me something. Starting something new wouldn't make me feel better, it would just make me feel more overwhelmed.

What I really need to do it get something off the needles. So that's what I'm focusing on today.
These sport-weight man socks are the closest to being completed, so I'm plonking myself on the couch, and I'm not moving until they are done  - or at least until it's time to put the veggies in for tonight's roast dinner. But I'll be right back at is as soon as I'm done.

If a finished object doesn't kick-start my knitting mojo - nothing will.

Oh that's a fine plan! sometimes finishing is the best thing you can do to feel like starting again!

It must be the changing of the seasons. I'm in the same funk. My idea of knitting right now is to walk past my many projects and give them an evil look. I have nothing close to being finished so this is bad. Note to self: don't start winter wear projects in February.

Have you thought about the Firestarter pattern for your Firestarter yarn????

That man-sock yarn sure is a pretty color!

Been there done that!! LOL! I love the colors in those Man socks too. I've planked myself on the couch trying to finish a poncho. I bet you'll finish your socks before I finish my poncho! LOL

I hope it works. Sometimes i can be invigorating to clear the decks and start with a clean slate :)

I feel your pain. I just finished (finally) my latest scrappy baby blanket, and to do it, I had to put on an audiobook and just plug along. You'll do it though!
