Soon...

Sorry.. no Saturday Sketches again (I know, it should be called Saturday Slacker...).  I'm on vacation soon, so everyone at work is trying to get their projects through before I leave, and helping Mom out, has left me working some evenings as well. (Not that I mind.. the woman raised me, the least I can do is chauffeur her around. Also.. for those who asked, her kneecap is fractured in two places. Not much she can do but rest and wait for it to heal over the next four weeks.)

So...long story short, no time to sketch - or even knit for that matter. I go the sleeve done and mom's appointment, but still have the bands to do.

Thankfully, the gardens don't need anything from me right now.. just a little sun and warmth... And sooon, it will all begin...
Soon, we'll  have strawberries....
... and raspberries (both plants are ever-bearing so berries right through until fall!)
The lilac is getting ready to show off...
As are the dianthans... (remember what a show they made last year)
Even the bachelor buttons are getting ready...
And look! My Columbine started from seed is in bud... at long last, I'll get to see what colour it is!
The one I got at the nursery is almost all the way in bloom.

The Lily-of-the-Valley is almost ready to pop
And the irises won't be too far behind.

As for the bulbs I planted last week... they all seem to have taken nicely
The Toad Lilies are enjoying their shady spot in front of the house.
And check out this funky thing... it's  Lily of some sort, but since I bought a grab bag, I have no idea of what kind of lily...

And as for the things I started from seed I was right.. only about half of thme seem to have taken
But that should still leave me with a nice bunch of Milkweed
 And Lupine....

We've apparently got a cold snap coming, and it could get down to freezing overnight... hopefuly it doesn't bother my babies too much.

The garden looks like it has a very good start.

Best wishes to your mom for a speedy healing.

Oh, poor, poor mom. That's gotta hurt.
Your garden is going to be glorious when it all blooms. I can't wait to see it!
