Getting there...

Lestrange is getting there
I put five rows on it last night and I'm finally up to a section of lace that has no purling on the right side, and complete purl-back rows, so I've got the rows down to 20 minutes instead of 40. I have about 10 rows left of this type of pattern, then it's back to 1-1 ribbing hell.... my goal is to finish the collar this weekend - and if one I do that - the 200-some-odd stitch-a-row of the bottom ruffle is going to seem like a breeze... Right?

Okay - let's just go with that for now because it's the only thing that's keeping me going at the moment.

And since this particular project just isn't that exciting and the only other thing I've made progress on is a pair of vanilla socks.... lets head back to the garden!

After showing you the picture of the Japanese beetle yesterday, I went out and humanely smooshed him under the heel of my shoe. I checked the plants for signs of others, and came up empty - so I hope I got lucky and headed off an infestation.

To be sure, I looked up ways to repel them with every day items - and it turns out that they don't like cat nip - I just happen to have a giant pot of cat nip - so I plunked it down between the two rose bushes.

Of course, like all grand plans, this one has bit of a flaw....

A giant, three-legged flaw to be exact
Oh dear....

(Oh - and though  I had to smoosh poor Mr. Beetle, I'm going to attempt to immortalize him in yarn.... stay tuned!)

Lestrange is looking beautiful. I'm anxious to see the next picture, as you're nearing the finish line.

Love the picture of Tux in the catnip. FUNNY.

Tux looks like he's enjoying himself; pity about the catnip though, I suspect it'll be dead fairly soon going by my own past experience.
