After the last Friday Felines post, some of you have may have guessed (and some of you may have seen it already on our facebook page)... but yes...
... we won't be a one-cat household for much longer. Yesterday, Mom accompanied me to the shelter to see if I could find a new companion. No one will ever replace Tux or Rocky, but this little sofa lion should help fill the hole in my heart a little.
He's very timid - not completely terrified like Peno was - but it didn't take long for him to realize he could get a good ear scratching from me. He only eight months old and was a stray, so I don't think he's had a lot of positive human contact. Once he's out of the shelter and into a big, comfy home, he'll warm right up.
I can't bring him home until he's been neutered, but that should happen sometime this week. But in the meantime... he needs a name! So we are taking suggestions. If you have one, leave it in the comments (or on our facebook post). If we choose the name you suggested, we'll send you a skein of yarn!
And meanwhile, I'll be counting down the days until he's home.

Jamie after the redhead in Outlander
How about Gaston Louis Alfred Leroux, author of Phantom of the Opera? You could call him Lou or Al for everyday. And perhaps he'd sing (purr) for you...
He looks like a Lyonus to me. Absolutely gorgeous
He really is a beauty! Still no idea for a name. The only orange kitty I have ever had to name was Mab (Shakespeare's queen of the fairies) and she was a she. The semi orange guy we have now I called Hurt Baby because when I trapped him in the woods when he was a kitten he was injured and I had to have something fast for his paperwork. Hurt Baby became Herbie which even The Mister thinks is a terrible name but it unfortunately stuck.
What a sweetie! I'm happy for all concerned.
I think you should name him Finnegan. He looks Irish to me. :-)
I think you should name him Cooper. And Cooper looks like a keeper!!! :-)
We took in an abandoned kitten and named him Lucky.
My first thought was Rupert.
Buttterscotch!
So cute!
Briere! Oh wait -------that's what I would name MY next cat. LOL
How about Maxwell because he has a pretty big tabby M on his forehead.
What a lovely little fellow! He very much reminds me of the late, much missed Miro. He was my sister's cat, also an orange tabby. Miro is Spanish for "I look" and he certainly did- he had his little nose everywhere. He came to stay with me one memorable Christmas when my sister was moving. Our first night together involved de-tinseling the Christmas tree. (With him helping, and me trying to get the stuff off before he could eat it.) And our second involved wiring said Christmas tree to a hook in the ceiling so he couldn't knock it over (again) when he tried to climb it. Once we got those little matters settled, though, he was a charming and affectionate houseguest.
I like ANDER, From part of the word Wandering.
I dont need a prize. I LOVE naming animals.
Here are some others:
Quervo is cute for Cinco de mayo month
Shep for shepard and the sheep knit thing
or how about Prince, in memory.
A Bengal Tiger? Tigger! Bouncy bouncy bouncy bouncy; a Tigger is a wonderful thing.
He looks sweet.
He's gorgeous! He looks like a Jesse to me.
What a lovely ginger boy - how about Stevie?
Oh whatever you name he's gorgeous. I'm so glad you've found each other. Wishing you a happy homecoming. I'll go with Seamus ;)
How wonderful!!! Sorry, I am clueless on names, so will just wish you well.
How about Benji? My favorite movie as a kid.
I thought of another option, Horace. I have no idea where it came from, but it feels right to me
Oh he is so beautiful! Reminds me of crème brule - lol. He is the same color(s) as my son's cat who is named Marcel (Proust). Whatever you name him, I'm sure he will be so happy to have been adopted. Enjoy the kitten time!
