Friday felines

Rupert is not amused.

As I mentioned in previous posts, it was a beautiful weekend last weekend and I was out as much as possible. While I was trimming and tying the raspberries, Rupert was at the door, crying.

So when I had a little break, I put him in his harness again then went back outside to give him a few minutes to adjust. Soon enough, he was back at the door looking for me, so I clipped on his leash, scooped him up, and brought him outside

At first, he seemed really calm. But then the ears went down and the tail went between his legs.
 ...and then... the crying started.
I've said before that he's a vocal one. And when he's upset he has the saddest, most mournful cry I've ever heard.
I tried to reassure him, but it was about a minute and half before he was back at the door.
And adamant that he get on the other side of that screen!

Hi Valerie, oh poor Rupert! I guess it's going to take time for him to adjust to the harness. It is so long ago now I can't remember what our cat Linus was like in the beginning trying the harness. I know he loved it for most of his life.
Have a good day, hope you didn't get much snow, we just received a dusting.

Poor Rupert! The last photo is certainly the most dramatic, and the one I'm sure he'll send to the authorities. ;-)

That last picture is hysterical!! I wonder if he will grow comfortable with the harness and leash. At least he didn't escape! Cats can and do make the most mournful and pitiful sounds when they are distressed.

Well, he's certainly clear about his feelings!!

awww. Keep at it with positives. Beatles loved his leash after time. We only used it in the house for awhile. Once he got outside and a moth flew out of the grass he was hooked on it! it takes cats time....lots of time and positives.

I can hear him in that last photo. Oh boy! He's so cute. I really hope he becomes accustomed to his harness and he can enjoy you in both the inside and outside world. He's horribly handsome.

Oh boy.....he does not look happy!! LOL! I can only imagine what Lilly Bean would do with a harness and leash.

His face says it all! I'm pretty sure I'd get similar looks from Ray if I tried that and probably death by cat if I tried it on Star

That is the only way I'll take my kitties outside too, and they hate it. But I just couldn't bear to lose one of them, so inside they stay.
