FO: Kleio

While it doesn't look like it from the pictures, we're in the midst of another snow storm here.
That meant no driving up to Mom's to get pictures of the finished Kleio shawl. With Dave at work, I had to do it myself (probably for the best, he's a crap photographer.)
It's very tricky to get pictures of yourself wearing a scarf or shawl. I do have a tripod, and probably could have set it up with the timer, but that's just a tricky. (Thank goodness for digital though - no wasted film!). I should probably invest in a bust form... of find a photographer friend who lives close by.
Back to the shawl though.... as you can see, and as mentioned before - it's a very shallow shawl, making it much more of a scarf than anything else. It's very cozy around the neck, but it doesn't sit easily on the shoulders and doesn't cover much when worn as a shawl
The colours are beautiful (Majesty and Velveteen Rabbit) and work so nicely together. The Slinky Cat, as always, is lovely to knit with and blocks beautifully. I'm starting to think I should have found a third colour and knit them into a Colour Affection instead...
I do love the lace pattern in this one though, and the knit on edging adds a lovely feminine touch.
I added a few beads to the lace because... well.... because why not?

But despite all this, I'm still not in love with it, so it's going to be tucked away into the present box for now. Someone on my list will love it, I'm sure.

It looks great on you. And, by the way, you do pretty good selfies.

I think it looks stunning worn as a scarf and the colours are amazing! It suits you too, but if you're not in love with it then I guess you won't be persuaded.

It is surprisingly beautiful when worn. It looks like a completely different shawl than the one that was blocking. It has a gorgeous drape. The colors are perfect. I would have a hard time giving that one away!

You should wear purple more often. :)

I thought it was pretty when you were knitting it, but it's utterly stunning now it's done! Some lucky gift recipient is going to adore it.

I don't know how you did it, Valerie, but the pictures you took yourself are fantastic. I could see them featured with the pattern in a magazine! And the shawl is beautiful; yes, the colors work very well together, and they look great on you! The lacy work along the edge shows off so well! That's a keeper!

I think you're not in love with it because of the frustrations you had .. it is beautiful. I've had projects like that though - never want to see them again, LOL! I love the colors and you take excellent photos by yourself!
