Progressing

Wow....seems like you blink lately, and it's suddenly a new month. (Where the HECK did September go?)

But as the days go flying by, I do at least have a little something to show for it.
That, my friends, is the first half of the first half of the boot toppers.... all washed and blocked and ready for construction of the second half.

The obsevant of you will notice that it is a wee bit different than the last time I showed you. It seems the design gods weren't quite finished with me, and I had to rip it all out and modify the pattern, once again.

The pretty little braid at the top is still mostly the same
A few tweaks were made to the stitches either side of the braid.

The climbing leaf motif is unchanged
And I gotta say..... I love this stitch pattern - expect to see it in other future designs. I'm already thinking of how nice it will work in a cardigan.

But it was the edging that got the most revision and prompted the frog.
The complicated lace just wasn't working out, so I ripped it all out and went with a simple garter picot. And honestly, it's much better (both in form and function) than the original one I had in my head.

Funny how things work out like that.

Now I should cast on for the second half.... the temps are dropping and being October, it is safe to call it boot weather..... but there's also the call of the Hallowe'en socks.... and those cool breezes certainly have me thinking of my big purple hug...

That yarn is a gorgeous color. Can't wait to see them topping the boots!

I agree that climbing leaf pattern would look nice in a cardigan too!

Love the changes, hoping you are planning to market the design when done?
