Saturday stroll through the garden

It's beginning...
Tournament of Roses won this year's competition to be the first rose in bloom. But the other's aren't far behind
Popcorn Drift will pop soon,  but all the roses are just covered in buds. I think they've been enjoying the cooler spring. They certainly didn't like last spring's humidity.
The first of the Daylilies has bloomed. This is Stella de Oro, the smallest and most compact. Next to the orange Daylilies, this is probably one of the most common ones. It's a favourite among landscapers and you see it a lot in gardens around commercial buildings.
Candy Mountain Foxglove is taking it's time, but the Peach Dalmation one is already blooming.  If this doesn't bring the bumblebees in, nothing will.
I just put the white bleeding heart in this spring and didn't expect to see blooms on it... but look at that!
I planted quite a few Siberian Irises from the dollar store last year - most didn't come back, but it looks like at least one made it through.
The pincushion plant is starting to bloom - another favourite of the bees.
The clearance Columbine is just beautiful! I wish they bloomed longer than just spring.
The raspberries are starting to flower, so we are just weeks away from juicy berries...
and days away from edible mini-strawberries.

What's good in your garden.

We have a HUGE patch of those yellow daylilies across the way at the shopping center. They are BEAUTIFUL!

Okay ............you need to sit down. I gave away the porch plants today. They went down to the "give away" table by the mail center. Nothing was growing well on the balcony. I thought maybe someone else would have some luck.

The orchids were brought into my bedroom in hopes they will survive. They are looking okay, but I don't see any progress on growing and one has lost a few leaves when I repotted. That's not unheard of, but it's not a GOOD sign either.

I only had one Siberian Iris come back too. Your roses are beautiful. I wonder if our one and only straggly thing is still alive. I'll have to go look.

Your garden is looking great! I can't say the same for my tomatoe plants....they are hanging on by a thread. They were doing so good until some bug got after them. sigh

The rose is going to be beautiful, so is that lilly, we can't grow them this far south. Enjoy!

Your daylily is way ahead of ours in Wisconsin. Im hoping for a bumper crop of day lilies by the mailbox. We have irises in bloom. Nearing the end of them. Miniature roses in bloom. Geraniums, impatients, and petunias. Oh and a zinnia or two . Two of the clematis look good, the later bloomer looks like it is beginning to have troubles.......
My lupine is growing and growing but not near blossoms

I hope my neighbors pick us some rasperries again. They were the BEST last year.

Am pretty sure I killed my miniature rose bush; I never watered it. The hostas are huge and enjoying life, and the daylilies are coming up like gangbusters.
