Support for Cecil

Many of you know this lovely lady to my right...
We've been besties since the day she starting beating me up on the school bus when I was 12. That's 25 years now (HOLY CRAP!!)

Anyway - you may have read her blog and know that on top of three beautiful children (ONE OF WHOM CAN ALMOST DRIVE NOW!!!!) she's a sucker for animals and has three beautiful kitties.

The youngest is Cecil.
A gorgeous little snowball of a kitty with one green eye and one blue eye. He's just 10 months old.
The poor little guy has been in and out of the vet this past week with a plumbing problem.
They were hoping an enema or two would clean his pipes and he'd be back to his normal, sweet, happy self.  At first it seemed hopeful, but on Sunday he took a turn for the worse and Sam rushed him back to the vet first thing Monday morning where she had to make the decision to either fork over her eternal soul surgery or euthanize an otherwise healthy kitten.
For reasons I won't go into, the surgery bill couldn't have come at a worse time. But like me, Sam is a cat person and come hell or highwater, we find a way. Cecil had surgery yesterday morning where they removed an inch of his intestine and a chunk of hard plastic he somehow managed to eat! (Silly kitten, plastic is for humans!)
When Tux needed surgery Sam and her husband were among the first to help out. So to return the favour, I've put all my patterns on sale* for 25% from now until the end of September. (no coupon code needed). ALL PROCEEDS from the sale will go directly to cover the surgery bill for our sweet little snowball. Pattern listing here: http://www.ravelry.com/designers/valerie-johnson

If you have no need of knitting patterns, but would like to help out anyway, I convinced Sam to set up  a GOFUNDME account. Any amount raised over his vet bill will be donated to the rescue he was adopted from, so you'll be helping a dear, sweet kitten either way.

I know there's lot of people and causes out there in need of support, and this is just one little white kitten, but any help you can give his so very much appreciated from the very bottom of our kitty-loving hearts.

*with the exception of Katherine and Chuck as they already support charitable causes.

Ahhh, such a sweetie. Talbot, one of Colin & Mailing's cats just had what sounds like the exact same surgery yesterday! Hoping both Cecil and Talbot will come through ok (Talbot is still at the vet's and won't be released until he has had food - and kept it down).

Such a hard call on the surgery-I wish vets took payment plans like hospitals!
You are sweet to help a friend! Will check it out!

I thought only dogs did stuff like that. Glad he's better now.

Oh Snowball. Our deaf cat radar was Frosty when we adopted him. I wonder if snowball is deaf on the side of the blue eye which is often the case. So nice of you to help them out financially!!! Will look over patterns

I wish I could help, but am sending him healing thoughts. Can't add anything to my budget at the moment. Hopefully he's learned his lesson and doesn't do that again and I also hope he heals quickly, bowel surgery is not fun!
