Back on track

Okay... Kleio and I have finally made peace and I've made it through the first eight rows of lace on the shawl
The rows are long and slow, but at least I'm not screwing them up any more. Once I got the lace pattern set, I was fine. I just can't explain why I was having such a hard time doing that in the first place.

I ended up having to use markers to mark off each repeat (there are 24 - that's a lot of markers!), something I haven't had to do when knitting lace fora very long time.

I was hoping to have this shawl off the needles this weekend, but that was before it started misbehaving.

I could probably do it if I had both Saturday and Sunday to knit.  But Saturday I have errands to run, and Sunday I'll be heading to Brantford bright and early. While Samantha is out freezing her butt off in a 5K run, I'll be all warm and cozy in her house hanging out with my favourite little man...
I'm going to try and talk him into watching movies while I knit. He's been under the weather with a cold, so it might work... but with my luck, he'll be all better and a giant ball of mischievous energy.

Of course, I'll be bringing a batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, so maybe I can bribe him.

Have ya thunk that out ---- cookies contain sugar. Sugar + little boy = probably not a whole lotta knitting time. ;-)

Have a good time with your little guy and good luck to Samantha on her run.

He looks very mischievous. That looks doesn't appear conducive to shawl knitting. Maybe vanilla socks instead?

I always use tons of markers with lace as it always seems to misbehave if I don't.
Thanks again for thinking of me with the Patons and I do love the green. As I said in my post-my fingers are itching to get those socks cast on and seeing your lace isn't helping!
Happy weekend with the boy. He looks like lots of fun.

Kleio's in my queue so I can't wait to see yours done. As to bribery, I am open to bribery!!! And I would totally let you sit and knit!!! But I don't need a sitter. LOL

Happy knitting this weekend. I find markers always help keep me on track.

Once your brain gets the wrong pattern in mind, it takes serious effort to yank it out of that rut. Glad you finally got it to behave! (But I'm with Dee on the cookies...)

It's 8km. Cookies and Tinkerbell or Ironman or Marvel on the PS3. He'll be fine. :) He's VERY respectful of knitting and even understands the "when I'm done my row" thing. Sometimes he says "are you done your flipping long row yet?" but otherwise he's not too bothersome. :) The other two? Hmmm. LOL

Thanks for the luck, Dee. :)

I love the look of the shawl. I have to use stitch markers or all is lost.

have fun in a warm house with that adorable one.
Do you use semi sweet or milk chocolate chips.
