He's home. Its quite shocking to see him with no leg and missing all that fur, but the fur will grow back and we'll get used to the rest.
Right now he's resting in his couch. He's happy to be home, but definitely upset about the whole thing. He has to relearn to walk, and right now just flops about which upsets him quite a bit. They sent me home with some pain meds for him though, so hopefully we can keep him comfortable.
He did eat as soon as he got home, and a fair amount, which I take as a good sign. I'm going to go chill with him for a bit. Thank you all for your good wishes - I will update you on his progress!

Wonderful!! Eating is always a good sign and much needed. He looks remarkably perky for what he's been through. Yay Tux!!!
Wow. Just wow. You both are so brave.
Looks like he wants to purr and spit at the same time.
My big cat Mary has no use of her back leg....She got used to it but it is always disconcerting to watch. So glad he is home.
Well wishes to you both.
It would be quite a shock to an animal to wake up and be missing an appendage. Too bad it was a front leg, I can see that being even worse. I remember seeing a dog on the news one time that was missing both front legs, but he got around by hopping and pretty much standing up on his two hind legs! When I was a kid my friend's cousin had a collie who was missing one leg. I can't remember which one, that was probably 30 years ago. They lived near train tracks, and he had gotten hit by a trolley.
Good for you Tux! Take it easy and feel better soon.
