A Boxing Day tradition

For the past few years, I've joined in Andi Satterland's after-Christmas KALs. And this year will be no different.

I've already decided I'm going to make Blaster...
The only problem is... what yarn to use? I have several lots of DK weight...

.I've got this lovely Debbie Bliss Cashmerino, but it's almost the same colour as the Empire Line Cardigan... I';m not sure I want to have two  cardigans of the same colour on the go at a time.
This Debbie Bliss Cathay has been in the stash forever (That's a young Rocky pictured with it!). But it's got two strikes against it - first, I've got 30 balls of it, and I was planning to make a afghan with it all. Second, it's almost the same shade as the Agatha I made in last year's KAL.
I've got this gorgeous Jo Sharp cotton. But I'm not sure cotton is the best choice. This pattern needs negative ease, and I think cotton will just stretch out with wearing.
Then there's this lovely Rowan Felted Tweed... but I was saving it for a sweater for Dave.

This GGH Woolywacsh... but I think the colour may be a little too drab  for a January knit.

Some decisions are hard!

So I have an idea, my LYS and others are all starting big sales today. You could contact THREE BAGS FULL in Northbrook Illinois and they have amazing sales . Just saying.

They would all be lovely, but that Limey Debbie Bliss, gorgeous!

I think the orange-ish is the best color, but I think you are right about the cotton. So, I would go with the red.

While the blue tweed is really pretty, I think Blaster needs a brighter color.

Blaster is a great project!

I love Andi's kals, her sweaters are always quick and fun to knit, glad to see you'll be knitting along too! <3

Such beautiful yarn, you can't go wrong with any of them. I made Miette a few years back and love it. God luck.

Ooooh Baby Rocky!

I see only one solution and I'm not trying to be a Sh*tstarter, but you need to get some new yarn. All those "concerns" about your existing stash are more than valid and I think you need to get something that is gonna pop on you and that will bring you joy while you knit it. I can already see you in it. I'm excited for you!

Hmm, options as I see it.
1. New yarn, go shopping for the perfect yarn if the budget will allow
2. overdye one of the other yarns you already have, this way you destash and get new yarn in one hit!
3. dig deeper in the stash; if you're anything like me there's something else hiding in there.
