In the end, I didn't knit a stitch on the big purple shrug. It was really just too hot to even think about aran weight.
But the cropped cardi got a lot of attention and as a result...
It's looking like a real cardigan already. For this one, I'm knitting until the skein of Alley Cat run out (only a few more inches now) and adding 10 rows of bottom ribbing.
This one will also be a cap-sleeve version, so once the body is done, it's just 10 rows of ribbing to finish off the sleeves, and then front bands! Easy-peasy!

I had an extra day off this week and I feel your back to the grind pain. Your shrug looks awesome so even if it was too hot to work on your other project I think your progress is great! I can't wait to see it done. :)
I love little shrugs. I'm wondering why I don't have one.
