Happy New Knit Year!

Well - she's finally here. A brand spanking, sparkly new year!

I'm not much one for making resolutions, but I do like to make goals for my knitting. Without them, I feel a bit like I'm floundering.

I've been doing really well with stashing down, so I want to keep up with that (it goes hand in hand with keeping my finances in check, so it's and ideal goal for this year.)

The sock and shawl stash isn't too bad, so this year I'm going to focus on the sweater stash. This year, I'm going to attempt to knit at least six sweaters (well, cardigans.. I'm much more a cardigan person) from the stash.

Here they are in no particular order:

Braid Hills
I've had the pattern for a few years now, and it's been sitting in my queue for a very long time. The GGH Woolywasch Mom gave me in the summer would be ideal for it I think!
A Cardigan for Arwen
I have loved this pattern every since it came out - years and years ago! It looks like it's the perfect throw on and go everywhere hoodie. And I've got a whole cone of Debbie Bliss Merino in dark green to knit it in (another stash enhancement from Mom)
Yes... it's the same yarn I'm currently making Agatha in  - just a different shade.

Empire Line Cardigan
Another one I've wanted to knit FOREVER. I actually started several years back but ended up frogging it. There are no charts in the pattern, and I kept messing up. Before I start it, I'm going to sit down and chart it out. I think that will make it much more enjoyable. As will the yarn I have for it.... a beautiful burgundy shade of Rowan Cashsoft DK.

Gnarled Oak
I bought this pattern book as soon as it came out because I loved this pattern so much. It's time I finally knit it! And the copper Jo Sharp Cotton will make it nice and comfy for near year round wear

Ocracoke.
I first saw Ocracoke when I was working on my Lestrange Cardigan. I would have cast on right then, but I didn't need two intricate cardigans on the needles at once. So maybe this year shoudl be the year for Ocracoke! I've got some beautiful mauve Diamond Fingering  merino that will make that lace work pop!

Frost at Midnight
This is the only one I don't have yarn in the stash for - it's done in lace weight - and as you know, I'm not much for lace weight. But it's just so pretty with those beaded little trees. So either I'll have to finagle it so I can knit it in fingering... or see if there's something in lace weight I can snag from the dye studio. Either way, I had to put it on this year's to do list!

Of course, before I start on any of these, I promise to clear at least three wips out. Agatha will probably be the first - she's going along swimmingly. Then Nora's giraffe hood. It's not far from being finished, I just have to steel myself to picking it up and working with that unruly chenile. Then either my leaf lace design....or the lace tunic. I should probably focus on the lace tunic... since we are coming up on it's cast-oniversary! I don't like taking more than a year to finish a project!

What's your plan for this new knit year?

Ready, set . . . KNIT!

I've joined the Harry Potter KAL or Inside Number 23's podcast and I'll be doing Make WIPs, Not Waste on BrownBerry podcast. That should help tame the stash a little bit.

The first project up is Sunday Swing socks.

I've always loved the Arwen hoodie too but I REALLY like the first one. Kate Davies? I am going to have to go take a closer look.

All the cardigans you have chosen are so pretty. I especially like the Empire one. Looking forward to seeing what you knit!
