It's shawl over!

Supervising a mostly immobile cat gives you lots of time to knit (not to mention it's a good stress reliever). As a result, the Sweet Dreams shawl has been cast off.
It's hard to get a decent picture... I moved blocking operation to the basement because a certain cat...
...has been terrible about my blocking lately. Not only does he pull the pins out - but he lays all over them and several of them are bent now.  But back to the shawl...
Twisted Slinky Cat and lots and lots of beads..... this one is going to be beautiful when it dries. Details and better pics will follow in a proper FO post.

Now.... back to the cats.

Last night, I figured Tux was doing well enough that I could sleep in my own bed again, so I trundled off without too many worries. I figured he'd be alright - he had his cat bed and food and water, and a carpeted path to his litter box.... he wouldn't travel further than that.

But this morning when I opened the bedroom door, there he was at the top of the stairs....a good 10 feet down the hall from his bed, then all the way up the stairs, which steep - and tiled like the rest of the house.

I carried him back down just to be safe, but needless to say, I was absolutely amazed to see him there. He hasn't moved much today, so I'm hoping he didn't hurt anything going up. (I have a sneaking suspicion he's trying to play on my sympathies.) We've got a post-op check up first thing tomorrow morning though.

What a cat!

WOnderful shawl.!!!!!! it is so beautiful.

Hope your post op check is wonderful. Miss blind Pie climbed the Christmas tree her first post op day after spay. Sometimes they just have to be more active than we wish. Thing is they are so smart. I think they know their limitations. Pie never touched her stitches….

Good luck on the post op check up. Sometimes we just can't keep them as quiet as we think.

The shawl looks awesome. I imagine Tux probably overdid a bit, but he has to test his limits to get stronger, right?

Well, at least he's still got gumption! That shawl is lovely; can't wait to see it unpinned

What a gorgeous shawl!! How do you do the lacy patterns so quickly??? And with beads too??? Well done!

Well, Tux is a tough little guy...getting things figured out quickly...and probably feeling better every day.

Your knitting amazes me. I want to type, I'm glad you two are getting some rest, but between Tux's hiking and your knitting, one wonders. I like how in the photo the Calico literally looks like he's scoping out some blocking knits to squash! Wishing you guys a good follow-up and some REAL rest.

Would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall and watch him climbing those stairs! :)

Good golly! With everything you've got going on, I can't believe you finished that shawl.
I'm so happy that Tux is on the mend. He'll be out climbing trees in no time.

Oh my, that SHAWL!!! Gorgeous!

Tux will be okay. I know it's a worry but mark my words, in a couple of weeks he'll be on fire! (NOT literally!)

One of our former cats had a badly broken leg, and we were supposed to keep her quiet after they pinned it, to let her heal. We quickly discovered that 'keeping her quiet' meant letting her do whatever the heck she wanted, since trying to confine her led her to ever more inventive and strenuous attempts to escape! I hope Tux is a little more cooperative in the resting department- I'm suppose I shouldn't be so amazed that he's already so active. Hope he continues to heal quickly!
