Giving up...

... in the very best way.

Dave's scarf will not be done in time for Christmas. As of Sunday night at bed-time, I was only half-way done the knitting. It took me the weekend to even get that far - with only two nights of knitting left to knit the rest AND weave the vertical threads it was never going to happen, so I just stopped trying. And I don't feel bad about it.

It will make a lovely Valentines gift, and I'll be ahead of the game (not to mention, the more I push myself to knit something, the more I hate it and I'm already not feeling the love for this project.)

So last night, I picked Cygnus back up.
Can I just say how much I love this colour? Have I said it before? Well I do. It's so rich. It looks great in every light. The Bugga, of course, is heaven to work with too.

When I started it back in mid-November, I flirted briefly with the idea of having this done in time to wear for Christmas too...
I'm only 4 inches from the underarm, so that's not going to happen either. But who knows, I may just have it done in time for New Years....

It's the 23rd and almost midnight and my Advent scarf is far from a finish so I feel your pain. I HATE admitting defeat. I'm going to be grumpy all day tomorrow about it but there is no way I can stay up all night to finish.
