It's snowing skulls

I've got my final Christmas present started. I wanted to do something with a more traditional fairisle look to it, but since it's for a 13-year-old aspiring musician, I thought some skulls were in order.

Thank goodness for Ravelry - it's brought such fun and whimsy to the knitting world, and made it so easy to find off-beat patterns.

I'm chose the Deathflake 2 chart - which was inspired by the original Deathflake chart - as it seemed a little more masculine than the original. Both charts are available for free.

I had the red and black Fat Cat leftover from the Spider Boy hat and the colours make it just that much more... rock 'n' roll.

It's going along very well, and I think my colourwork is getting a little better. Which is good... because I've got big plans for next year.... but we'll just leave that for another day...

This project is so cool! I love the contrast in the yarns you are using. And sucker that I am, I love that the pattern is called, "Deathflake". The recipient is going to be super lucky to call it theirs.
