Friday felines

Friday the 13th... a day for superstitions! So I thought we'd take a look at black cats...

But instead of ill-luck... let's discuss their good luck!
An old British superstition says that giving a bride a black cat on her wedding day will bring her good luck in her marriage..
The Japanese believe that black cats bring luck and prosperity... and ward off demons and evil spirits!
In some theatre circles, it's believed that if a black cat joins your audience, your play will be successful.
French peasants long believed that if a black cat was released at a crossroads where five roads intersect, the black cat would lead them to treasure.
In the south of France, it's believed that those who treat black cats well  will have good fortune.
British sailors thought black cats would ensure a safe trip home.
And we all know how lucky I am to have this little dark shadow in my life!

You are lucky! Now that I am thinking about it, I've never had a black cat. Maybe that's why my luck has always been so terrible.

And black cats are very loving, that can't help but bring good luck. We're doubly blessed here :)

Cute photos! We LURV our black cat Chucky, and Sweetie, the friendly feral. To hear Sweetie's purrs as I pet her, is an amazing thing!
