Cranky Carbeth
The Carbethigan is in a time out...
This is as far as I got before I remembered that I really don't like knitting with cotton. Especially after just coming of Blaster and her amazingly luscious merino.
I'm not ripping her out just yet. But I'm letting her simmer for a while. I'm going to go work on a UFO and hope that some time apart makes things a little more clearer for me and poor Carbethigan.

I’m with you. Hate knitting cotton. Hate wearing it. Seems always stretching. Only good for dishcloths. Frog it. Life is short.
Knitting in short bursts might be the way to handle this project. Knitting with cotton makes my hands ache because it has no give.
Yup, I have only used cotton for dishcloths...I have some old Rowan cotton in my stash and have tried to use it...but I can't. no give and it makes my hands and arms hurt.
I just did the SAME thing Val with my sock cotton . I was lured by the colorway. Gheesh. I guess I could make a very small bandanna with it instead of socks. I could wear that cotton around my neck. But what on earth was I thinking?
Cotton is harder to work with-agreed but sometimes it is very worth the minor discomfort so that you can enjoy wearing it later!
Interesting comments above! I've only worked with cotton yarn, but then again, I quit knitting over 13 years ago...could be cause and effect!
I agree, no cotton knitting for me, even though I love cotton sweaters!
Oh god....I was just thinking of knitting some cotton socks for summer. Now I'm not so sure.
Cotton can be painful. It's so nice to wear, and such a PIA to knit, alas. My Carbeth is sort of languishing on the last (reknit of a) sleeve - I seem to have no knitting time to speak of...
