Losing it! (Updated!)

If you're looking for the contest - the link is in the side bar (or you can just scroll down)

For years the older people in my life have been warning me about how age affects the mind.

Crap... turns out they were right.

Here I am, just a few months past the big 3-0 and this week alone I've lost my T4 slip (Tax info), the Candy Girl yarn I'm making the heart socks with and my Hansi Singh creature book (and I really want to make some more Nessies!). And I still can't find ANY of them!

I've torn the house apart, moved furniture, asked the cats (who are no help at all!) I suspect Nargles are behind it - but that's probably just because I've been working my way through the Harry Potter series again.

There is only one place I haven't looked - my catastrophe of a studio. I don't remember having any of them in there, but if they aren't anywhere else...

I have the day off. I'm going to tackle the studio. I'm going to crank some Jethro Tull then I'm going to organize the beads, tidy the yarn, shred the documents, put books on the shelves... and maybe, hopefully, possibly I might find my lost items.

What are the cats going to do today?
I'd join them, but as you can see there is no room left on the couch. And I have too much to do anyway....
UPDATE:

I have found the Candy Girl yarn! It was in my Knitting Basket - go figure!

I have also found:

$13 in Canadian Tire Money (for my out-of-country readers, Canadian Tire is a hardware chain that offers a percentage of your purchase back in store money redeemable in merchandise - considering I only get about 5 - 15 cents back each purchase $13 is quite the haul!);

A Saarjtes bootie I made for my niece two Christmases ago and lost. I tucked the other one away somewhere in case I ever found the lost one but now I don't know where it's tucked away - so maybe this is the one that wasn't lost in the first place...;

My blue old tape measure. I had another one so it wasn't a big deal, but the blue one was one of Tux's favourite toys;

About a squillion hair elastics. Why is it I could never find them when my hair was long and I need them???;

The Valentines day card I bought for Dave a month in advance. Of course I couldn't remember where I put it, so I had to go buy another one the day before;

Still MIA are my T4 slip and the Hansi Singh book. The T4 isn't a big deal because work is already in the process of issuing me a new one. The book however.... well I guess I'll keep looking...

Hope you find your things. I HATE when stuff goes missing, especially when I just had it a moment ago.

Good luck on your quest!

I've lost a small bag of stitch markers and tapestry needles in the past few weeks and I'm in the same dilemma. I'm blaming it on the cat.

That happens to me all the time - partly age and partly I am just generally messy. I bet the cats took them and moved them, and just aren't admiting it. At least that is what I usually assume at our house!

That's okay, by the time you hit 40, you'll have forgotten everything they said about how age affects the thingy...uh, mind.

I see I'm not the only absent-minded one! lol! Probaby at least four years ago the kids had a PS2 game - Spongebob the Movie. It was never taken out of the house, and no one borrowed it. I have the case, but the game has never been seen since. It was in our bedroom last, and I've rearranged that room, taken all the drawers out of the dressers, etc - never found.

Have you seen my copy of k.d. lang "Hymns of the 49th Parallel", one knife from a 6-knife set, my brown handknit mittens that match my brown handknit hat, one of a pair of US6 straight needles, or my sanity? You have inspired me to scour the knitting room!
