There was no blog post yesterday because I was busy bringing diabolical plans to fruition with a certainly lovely lady...
It took us almost a year to flesh out these plans.. but this kind of thing isn't really something you want to rush anyway...
Yes... that's exactly what it looks like (it's also the very talented Dave from Kreative Khaos)
You see... last February, Samantha shared a Kreative Khaos Facebook post. For one day that month, they were offering a selection of animal-themed tattoos at a discounted price, with proceeds going to the local SPCA.
I've wanted a tattoo for a very long time. And while I didn't want any of the ones they were offering as their fundraiser, I really liked the idea of a cat-themed one. So I messaged Samantha... it turns out, she was thinking about a cat-themed one too. So the decision was made - we'd go together.
After months of designing and deciding on the perfect designs (it really does have to be perfect.. it is permanent after all) the appointment was booked and away we went.
Now... don't ever believe someone who tells you a tattoo doesn't hurt (and I've had many people over the years tell me that). It feels like a bunch of needles being scraped across your skin, which of course, is exactly what it is. However, it is a tolerable pain (mostly) and after is all over, it pretty much just feels like a cat scratched you.
But, I was a very good girl, and sat very still (though I may have made a face or two.. or twenty...) and about 15 minutes later...
All done! And I survived!
Samantha was up next..
This was not her first tattoo, so she was infinitely more zen than I was. (I think having three babies helps too....)
If you've never seen a tattoo being done, let me tell you - it's fascinating to watch. And Samantha's new little beauty...
We are now cat ink sisters!
And of course, Tux approves...
...because that's not just any paw print. That's actually his paw print (the remaining front leg). I stamped his foot and traced the design over it to get the exact size and shape. (And man does he have big paws!) Now I will have a little piece of him with me forever.

THat's just fantastic. How exciting. LOVE the finished tattoos. Love the cat part . lOve the tux sentiment. WHEEEEE
How incredibly sweet! Daughter and The Mister have had their share of ink experiences but I am a big sissy. Now you can add brave to your resume!
Lovely!
I have a pair of rat paws as a memorial on my shoulder/collar bone, but they're small and simple - I love the triquetra, and the fact that it's Tux's paw is amazing.
Awesome! I love that its Tux's paw print too! I love her cat image also. I have 4 tats. Some people definitely think it hurts more than other people, my best friend would squirm and make all kinds of faces and need breaks ... I kinda looked like Samantha - getting a massage, LOL! I've been thinking of a kitty themed one ...
That is so cool! I like your friend's tattoo too.
It was so much fun. I am glad to have done it with you. LYLAS!
Ahhhh. You two chose really nice designs!
That is amazing. xo
What a great idea to have Tux's paw print for a tattoo , love it ! Samantha's is awesome too .
It does look super cool, I've often thought about a tattoo, but haven't decided what I want yet. For me it would be either craft related or something from my Gaelic heritage.
