Day 1: Deep cleaning and dragons

My plan for the first day of vacation was to get up early and get all of my housework out of the way so I could spend the afternoon working on my Daenerys shawl.

That plan was thrown out the window when I just couldn't get to sleep last night. I finally managed to nod off around 4 a.m..... but that meant getting up early today was not going to happen.

I finally rolled out of bed at the crack of noon. And I managed to get all the housework done that I'd planned. It's nice to finally see the last of winter's salt stains cleaned from the hall and the weather was even nice enough that I had the doors and windows open to let in some fresh air.

But the shawl did not get as far as I'd hoped.
It's about half-way through the scale repeats now. I'd been hoping to get much closer to the edge charts, but c'est la vie.

I still have a few hours left this evening - I can add a few more rows of scales while snuggling with my friends.

It is looking good though, even if not as far along as you'd hoped.

Congratulations on getting the spring cleaning done! Gavin has decided we need to clean out all the kitchen cupboards, so my knitting (or steeking and grafting really) isn't as far along as I'd hoped.

Thanks to my allergy prone puppy my spring cleaning has been getting done everyday since December. Having said that I just found a dust bunny bigger than her under the couch this morning. I do have to say my own indoor kitty allergies have been much improved so I can't complain about all the dusting and mopping. I'm sure the cats think I'm crazy though. Even they have been getting bathed daily. They do seem to love it which I find very odd.

I really need to get hopping on some spring cleaning.

Now that the summer temps are coming our windows will not be open very often and I love cleaning with a fresh breeze blowing in.

Congrats on getting yours done. You deserve some serious knitting time.
