Colour magic

I promised you... and myself... something new and fun in the knit department...

And here it is!
That jumbled up mess of yarn and needles is Tree Delivery. Well... sort of. It came up on Ravelry a short while ago, and I was just so charmed by the motif that I downloaded it right away. But I don't really have a need for a hot water bottle cozy, so I'm using the charts and making a cowl instead.
I'm using the grey Barn Cat Sport leftover from Wren's cardigan, and a skein of handspun from Mom. The dismal grey November day is making it hard to see the beautiful mix of dark purple, green and teal in that skein. Hopefully by the time I get the cowl finished, I'll have a little bit of sun to photograph it in.
Here's a peek at the work so far. I'd hoped to be further along, but my doctor and I have been tweaking the meds I take for my chronic back pain, and the new formulation knocked me out for most of the weekend. But between naps, I've been working on it diligently and I'm about halfway through. It's so much fun watching the pictures emerge with each row.

I love your adapting the pattern. I knit a water bottle cover once and rarely used it. Feel better Val!

Pretty! I downloaded the pattern as well, and want to make a hat or cowl or something other than a hot water bottle cover. I don't even have a hot water bottle ... :-)

Back problems are no fun at all....the drugs on the other hand sound fun. LOL I could get into a weekend of naps. I agree that motive is really nice and the colors you've chosen are going to be fab. Hope your back gets better soon.

I can see the trees just starting to appear! Too cute!!

Hope your back is feeling better soon. I woke up very stiff this morning and then remembered I had forgotten to take an Aleve before bed last night.
