In the bag

Remember the fabric I bought a while back?
Well I finally got around to sewing it up. Mom got one of these style bags a while back, and  then she found the pattern for them.
It's pretty straight forward to make - once I got the hang of it, a bag takes about an hour to finish. I love that the bag is lined. I think my favourite part of making them is coordinating fabrics! It's an ingenious little design - just loop the short strap over the long one and the weight of the bag keeps it closed!
It's perfect to hold a pair of socks in progress or a small project. It's also just a cute little tote bag. And want to know the really exciting part?

One of these will be going to the winner of the Mr. Dress-up KAL. Yesterday was spent at Mom's, dyeing up some coordinating yarn to go with each bag. The winner (chosen in just a few days!) will get choose which prize theme they want - Fairies, Frog Prince or Cat's Meow!

That is the style of the Lucy Bag, a felted bag by Two Old Bags. I have made a few of that pattern, but never kept one for myself! I must remedy that.
